The Friends of the Library is a volunteer-led organization committed to supporting our local library financially and through community engagement. We raise funds to help provide: books and learning materials, educational programs, supplies, and resources. We are a small but passionate group always looking for new community members who share our love for learning, literacy, and connection. Together, we help ensure our library continues to grow and serve future generations.
The Friends of the Moneta/SML Library was formed in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Corporation. According to our oy-laws, the purpose of our volunteer group shall be to promote the goals and needs of the Moneta/SML Library, a part of the Bedford Public Library System, and to insure that the benefits of said library be enjoyed by residents of the Moneta and Smith Mountain Lake communities and fundraising efforts for the purpose of promoting the goals of the library and enhancements to benefit the library and it’s patrons.
